• Each Pillow is made to order. Once purchased oils are added into the hulls, mixed evenly & then put into the pillow (right before shipping to ensure a fresh scent upon arrival).
• Keep pillows out of areas that receive a lot of heat and/or sunlight; this will help scents last longer in your Buckwheat Hulls Pillow.
  

• Steam distilled from the leaves & flowers of an Asian perennial evergreen in the mint family. 
• This oil is used in perfumery & incense making & its earthy scent is used in aromatherapy to release feelings of self-doubt & promote a sense of balance.

• Patchouli oil has been used for centuries in China & Japan to address various inflammatory skin issues.  The oils contain several unique organic compounds that are responsible for its scent as well as its anti-inflammatory activity. One referred to as Patchouli Alcohol is even used in the production of the chemotherapy drug Taxol. 

• In the 1800s, the scent of patchouli oil emanating from imported fabrics from the east became a marker of quality.  So much that European exporters scented their products with patchouli oil to instill confidence in their quality.  The oil is still used today to deter moths & other pests from infesting fabrics while in shipment.

• In ancient Rome & Egypt, patchouli oil was considered so valuable that it was once literally equal to its weight in gold.  Apparently even a favorite of Pharaoh Tutankhamun (better known as King Tut), whose body was reputedly laid to rest in a tomb containing 10 gallons of Patchouli Oil!
